Statement

The resistance of our people, their struggle and sacrifices protect their identity and national rights

On the 62nd anniversary of the "Nakba Catastrophe," carried out by the Zionist aggressor with the help of the British Mandate, Saleh Nasser, member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), stated:

- Our people turned the Catastrophe into a national event to reaffirm their rights, especially to return to their homeland, self-determination and a completely sovereign, independent state with its 1967 borders. At the same time, our people reject the Israeli project founded in the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state.

- We affirm our conviction that there is no substitution for the sacred and historic right to return to our homeland, unanimously supported internationally through Resolution 194; and the rejection of any project that goes against that right.

- The continued internal division only serves the Zionist enemy and weakens our ability to confront its plans in a united way.

- The urgency to return to the table of a national dialog, based on the Egyptian proposal to recuperate political unity between the two parts of the homeland (Gaza and the West Bank) and national institutions, as well as reach a combative and united political program that determines the options of our people and the ways to struggle against Israeli occupation. In addition, the need to democratize our political system, its institutions and mass organizations through democratic elections, based on proportional representation.

- Carry out the resolutions of the Central Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and reject direct and indirect negotiations until colonialism in Jerusalem and the West Bank is stopped; to hold a new plenary of the Council to adopt a decisive position in this regard, according to the resolutions of the legislature.
