Statement

Netanyahu Government ignores Arab summit resolutions

- We call on the president of the National Authority to cease any negotiations with the government of Netanyahu until it recognizes the resolutions of the international community and the right of our people to self-determination and an independent state

- The Arab countries are called upon to review their resolutions and to form a supreme committee of kings and presidents to terminate all the forms of relations with Israel until it recognizes Arab rights and puts an end to colonialism

The official spokesperson of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine stated the following:

Within 24 hours of its formation, Benjamin Netanyahu government, which announced its program and won the approval in the Knesset on March 31, 2009, ignored the resolutions of the Arab summit.

The program of the government of Netanyahu ignores all the resolutions concerning international legality and the results of negotiations of the government of Ehud Olmert with Mahmoud Abbas and his team from the National Palestinian Authority.

Netanyahu announced that the high point of its political project is “autonomy for the population of the West Bank and Gaza, without sovereignty over the land" and "security in exchange for security," without pointing to the absolute right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and an independent Palestinian state. This idea about autonomy was precisely outlined in his book A Place Among Nations (“Autonomy for the population to the Andorra-style”).

We call on the president of the Palestinian Authority to stop any type of negotiations with the government of Netanyahu until it abandons its expansionist ambitions in Jerusalem and the West Bank, ceases colonialist activities totally and recognizes the resolutions of the international community.

We call on the Arab countries to review the resolutions of the Arab summit and to form a supreme committee of kings and presidents. This body’s objective would be to take new and concrete steps constituted on the basis of terminating all relations and negotiations with the government of Netanyahu until such time that it recognizes the resolutions of international legality and puts an end to colonialism.
