The Department of National and International Relations of the PLO warn that the escalation of Israeli violence and crimes against Palestinians will impact negatively on the security and stability of the region.
The Department called on the International Community, the Quartet and the UN Security Council to pressurize Israel to stop this ongoing series of crimes against the Palestinian People. The department further asked for pressure to be placed on Israel to comply with all international resolutions and decisions, and called on the UN Security Council to hold an immediate session to ensure that they provide protection to the Palestinian People.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Department said, "Israeli Forces, using Israeli war jets to launch strikes on Palestinian residential areas, have committed massacres in Rafah, Nablus and Khan Younis, killing 15 Palestinians, including one child and injuring 30 others.
The statement said that the Israeli forces have been killing Palestinians for more than 60 years and the current massacres take place one day before the 58th anniversary of the Deir Yassin Massacre of Palestinians by the Aragon gangs in 1948.
The Department reiterated that these attacks against Palestinians are war crimes and are against all international laws and human rights. It demanded that those responsible for committing these war crimes be brought to justice.
