Palestinians in Ramallah went on mass demonstration in the streets to show their support of Palestinian prisoners, and to call for their release.
Hundreds of people, led by representatives of different factions, and accompanied by high-ranking government officials, raised Palestinian flags and shouted slogans in support of prisoners in Israeli jails.
The demonstrators marched through the streets of Ramallah to the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), where they called on PLC members to make the release of prisoners a top priority. On their arrival at the PLC building, the Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs, Wsfi Qabaha, confirmed that the release of prisoners is on the government’s agenda.
Families of prisoners participated in the march, saying that prisoners should always be an issue of top priority.
