The higher Coordination committee of Palestinian national and Islamic forces sent urgent messages to Mahmoud Abbas, the PA chief, and PLC speaker, Rawhi Fattoh, and Omar Suleiman, Egyptian intelligence head, holding Israel responsible for any collapse of the already fragile calming down.

The committee reiterated that the calming down didn't mean in any way that Palestinians would remain arms folded vis-à-vis the Israeli cruel aggressions against them and their Palestinian people, and stressed, at the same time, that resistance is a legal right for every occupied people against the foreign occupation force as granted by all international laws and resolutions.

The said message, a copy of which was received by the Qatar-based Al-Sharq newspaper, stressed the necessity to put the Cairo understanding on concrete ground and reaffirmed its adherence to all what was agreed upon during the meeting, including holding of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) elections.

"Fattoh and the PLC members must work hard to redirect the Palestinian path to the right direction and must consolidate the inter-Palestinian unity for us to be able to confront the Israeli challenges and implement the demands of the Palestinian people topped by the holding of the PLC elections based on a modern law that answers the aspiration of the Palestinian people and ensures democracy of the political process", the message read.

The committee, in its message to Suleiman, appreciated the Egyptian role that ensued success to the Palestinian consensus as embodied in the Cairo declaration that calls on Israel to reciprocate the calm, to halt all its aggressions against the Palestinian people and to release all Palestinian inmates in its jails.

"Israeli government disregarded the calming down since its signing and its occupation forces killed tens of Palestinian civilians and wounded many others, while hundreds were arrested and thrown into jails. They desecrated the holy Quran, they allowed and paved the way for Jewish terrorist groups to storm the Aqsa Mosque under their protection. They committed all what is forbidden against the Palestinian people while the whole world kept silent, and definitely, all those factors were "explosion factors" aimed at burying the calming down in its cradle.

Thus, the committee, facing all those aggressions against our Palestinian people, holds the Israeli government fully responsible for the collapse of the present truce that, for sure, won't work with the adherence of one party only.

The committee concluded its message calling for an urgent meeting of the Cairo declaration signatories to review and follow up its implementation.
