The Palestinian official is in Cuba leading a delegation of that political organization at the invitation of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the creation of the DFLP.

For his part, Hawatmeh expressed his appreciation of the meeting held at the headquarters of the PCC's Central Committee and sent his best regards to President Raul Castro.
