Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas considers what happened Tuesday in Jericho as an unforgettable crime against the Palestinian Authority and People.
In a press conference he held after visiting the city of Jericho and observing the demolished Muqata'a, Abbas said that there was collusion between the Americans, the British and the Israelis, particularly because the time between the monitors' withdrawal and the attack was no more than five minutes.
Abbas admitted that he was notified by the British that they wished to leave, but that they did not give any specific dates or times. He stated that they surprised us when they acted so quickly.
What happened was an insult to the Palestinian people, a regrettable crime and a clear violation of all signed agreements, Abbas said. He stated: I can understand all the anger and the reactions after the attack on the jail.
Abbas revealed that he has contacted the UN Secretary General in order to ask him to carry out his responsibilities and to call for him to support the Palestinian People.
The PA President said that there is no value in the agreements signed with the Israelis as long as they are cancelled by them whenever they want.
